Notes about the author and arranger. David M. Battles holds a B.A. in American Studies/Music, an M.A. in American Studies, and an M.L.I.S. in Library and Information Science, all from the University of Alabama. He is available for writing projects, exhibits, and other creative work dealing with the areas of music, library science, and American Studies/American History. Mr. Battles is currently working on a narrative history of the University of Alabama: 1818 through 1926.
